Doctors battle to save widow allegedly butchered by brother inlaw.
A team of medical personnel are now battling to save the life of a 60-year old widow, Mrs. Ngozi Emeana, from Umuakali, Naze, Owerri North local council area of Imo State, who was allegedly attacked and butchered by her brother inlaw and two others (names withheld), over a land matter.
Narrating the incident to newsmen in Owerri, the widow's son, Mr. Uche Emeana, not only gave the names of the people that attacked and badly wounded his mother, but also added that "the suspects are now on the run, after dealing the near-fatal machete cuts on my mother jaw".
Giving a graphic account of what led to the incident, Uche recalled that the suspects and other accomplices allegedly wanted to sell seven plots of land belonging to late Sir Christopher Emeana but were resisted by his mother.
"Instead of honouring the invitation to the shrine, my mother reported the suspects to Zone 9 Police Headquarters, Umuahia, as well as the elders of the traditional council, who also came into the matter", Uche recounted.
