Man, 22, rapes junior high school student.

A 22-year-old physically challenged man is in the custody of the Winneba District Police Command for allegedly raping a student of the Don Bosco Junior High School in Winneba in the Central Region.

After Quainton had allegedly raped the 18-year-old girl, Armah, who is a student of the Senya Beraku SHS, is said to have also attempted to rape her but she was rescued before he could do so.

Mobile phone
Briefing the Daily Graphic, the Winneba District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Mr Godfrey Tetteh Adjirakor, said the victim (name withheld) had given her faulty mobile phone to Quainton, who sometimes repairs phone, to repair it for her.

Mr Adjirakor said about 8 p.m. when the girl returned to Quainton’s house, Armah told her his cousin was not at home but ushered the girl into the room and asked her to wait for Quainton.

Rescue
While the girl was waiting, he said, Armah and Quainton entered the room and locked the door, after which they switched off the light and pushed the victim onto a mattress on the floor.
