Suicide bomber hits Borno secretariat, kills 2

A suicide bomb attack on Borno State secretariat, Maiduguri, on Thursday, left two persons dead and 19 others injured. A security official at the gate of the secretariat, who verbalized on condition of anonymity to our correspondent, verbally expressed the incident transpired at about 12pm.
He verbalized the lone suicide bomber, who pretended to be a worker at the secretariat, was turned back at the gate when he did not have an identity card. According to him, workers at the secretariat had embarked on a verification exercise in order to fish out ghost workers. The security officials verbalized the suicide bomber had a file on him to show at the gate that he was a civil coadjutant working at the secretariat. He verbally expressed, “We had to turn him back when he could not present an identity card.

 To our surprise, a few metres from the security post, the suicide bomber detonated the bomb strapped on him, killing himself and two other persons immediately. “The explosion equipollently caused injuries to 19 other persons who were rushed to the Borno State General Hospital, Maiduguri, for treatment.” He verbalized the corpses of the two deceased were equipollently deposited at the morgue of the hospital. However, a reliable source verbally expressed he optically discerned rescue workers carrying away four corpses from the scene of the explosion.
