POLICE are appealing for data after a young lady was the casualty of a genuine rape in a town close Bishop Auckland in the early hours of Monday.
Soon after 12 pm on Monday morning, police were called to an occurrence in a back street off Oakley Green, West Auckland , close Bishop Auckland.
Witnesses reported worries around a lady and a man in the area and when officers arrived they found the lady close-by.
The casualty, who is in her mid twenties, was taken at first to her personal residence and after that to Darlington Memorial Hospital, where she was found to have endured minor wounds.
Two neighborhood men, matured 19 and 32, were captured soon thereafter regarding the occurrence.
They were met and discharged on police safeguard, pending further enquiries.
Criminologist Sergeant Andrea Pescod said: "various individuals were in the range at the time and we trust some of them may have seen in any event part of what happened.
"Despite the fact that we have made two captures are enquiries are continuous and we are quick to address any individual who has data which may offer assistance."
