A 37-yr-old man got sentenced to 6 months imprisonment for touching a girl’s breast

A Magistrate Court located at Ikeja, last weekend, sentenced a 37-year-old man, Ibrahim Abu, to only six months imprisonment for an intentional offence of touching the breast of a 17-year-old girl (names withheld) without her permission.


The offender, who resides at 6, Mosque Close, Isheri-Olofin, Lagos State, was brought before Magistrate Osusanmi and jailed last Friday for sexually assaulting the innocent girl.

The girl was actually asked by her parents to learn hairdressing, while she awaits the release of her Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, SSCE, result.

The incident happened 7:30p.m. last week Monday, as she was returning home from her place of apprentice. Abu waylaid the victim at Baale Bus Stop Akowonjo,  engaged her in some irrelevant talk and touched her breast without seeking her consent.

In retaliation to this, she hurriedly slapped Abu and he hit her with a plank; she reportedly fell, became unconscious and was rushed to a hospital.

Abu was immediately apprehended by the officers close to the scene.
