Federal officials verbalize a man who eluded from a Georgia prison work camp proximately 48 years ago has been apprehended in Connecticut.
The U.S. Marshals Accommodation verbalizes Robert E. Stackowitz was accommodating a 17-year sentence for larceny in August 1968 when he eluded from the infirmary at Carroll County Prison Work Camp in Carrolton, Georgia.
Officials verbally express a regional task force reviewed the case and found a possible alias for Stackowitz, and then found a Connecticut address linked to that denomination.
CBS affiliate WGCL reports that Stackowitz was apprehended without incident.
Ascendant entities verbally express Stackowitz is being held in a Connecticut jail, waiting to be conveyed to Georgia.
It's not clear if he has an attorney.
