Vintage plane crashes in Hudson River.

A little plane smashed in the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey Friday evening, CBS New York station WCBS reported .


The Federal Aviation Administration said it got a report a World War II vintage P-47 Thunderbolt airplane went down in the stream two miles south of the George Washington Bridge around 7:30 p.m.

The New York Police Department said the plane smashed in the stream nearer to the New Jersey side. NYPD vessels were sent to the accident scene, seeking alongside FDNY and New Jersey State Police.
